I'm want to purchase memory pads for my gpu memory banks. But I heard it has to be exact.
    ex: 1.2mm

I would like your help on what size I should get.

I also would like to know what should I get for a pad on the northbridge???

also what thermal paste I should buy???

how much is a gpu heatsink for the m17x???? I want to try an experiment.

    thanks everyone. :)

Look here, Don. You'll get your questions answered.
page #11 is very educational. ;)

You can try using the quality pads for NB as well. I used MX-3 (had to apply a lot) but others reported great success with ICD-7/24.

If you want to improve the heatsinks do what Soviet did (in that thread). You could add a copper plate instead of a pad on a northbridge and put some extra MX-3 on the CPU to account for a gap that would definitely appear.
If you intend to use a pad on the NB, it won't give you much better results than the stock one, so it's either a thick and non-bleeding paste (MX-3, IC-7/24) or (the best way) a copper plate.

You can order the copper plates from here

as for the pads: use BerGquis t ones. 1.5mm for the GPUs (AFAIK)

As far as I remember, it should be around 1mm, but you'll have to be careful - better make it slightly thicker than thinner.

Hehe, you'll have to dremmel it anyways to fit your gap perfectly.
