I am running Modern Warfare 2 on my m17x with the following specs...

    Core 2 Quad 2.0 GHz
    4 Gb Ram
    Dual 260's

Im running the game maxed out and it runs beautifully!

Im not much of an expert when it comes to hardware and temperatures so i wanted to share the following screen grab with you guys..

Check out the numbers to the right which are the maximum temperatures reached.. They seem reasonable but still i wanted to compare and get some feedback.

One more thing.. Christmas holidays are just around the corner and gaming hours will increase quite significantly! Lol! Should i consider ordering a "cooling pad" or whatever they are called or should i be fine sticking to those temps..?? If so, which pad?

    Thanks!

    Alex

the cpu temps are fine, and why you dont have the 260m temps, ?

and the m17x has the best cooling system on a laptop so there its no need of a coling pad

    Hi avillabon,
70 Degrees is about normal under a load. The M17X seems to run far cooler than most gaming notebooks. You should be fine with all those temps.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

P.S. - I love your avatar. That was a funny short film.

is it not recommended to keep the notebook as cool as possible? Although it hurts to think i have to spend an extra 70 bucks for a cooling pad.. id rather do that than have my notebook's life shortened..thoughts?

It SHOULD be perfectly fine without a cooling pad. The M17x has the best cooling of any gaming notebook to date, and hopefully the GPUs shouldn't be able to burn out on their own.

About the screenshot above, it definetely seems like SLi is not being used. Why not, do you have it turned off or is the PC version of MW2 that crap that it doesn't support it? (Yes, I called MW2 for PC rubbish)

MW2 is not supported by the SLI in the latest Dell drivers.

hahaha yes.. MW2 is a crippled version of the previous one but i still find it fun. I searched for "enable dual video cards" in the graphic settings but they seem to have removed that option. I'm not 100% sure what drivers i currently have installed but I'll check as soon as i get get home. Perhaps someone here know a way to enable it?

    I have one question.
I have never really been worried about checking settings such as CPU temperature and now that I have an M17x i would like to keep track of these things.
Where can I find the settings that you were providing a screen shot of??

    Thank you.

    O and Modern Warfare 2 IS JUNK without Dedicated servers! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents haha.
