    Hi i have an m17x with 2 geforce GTX 260M's a T9600 dual core processor running @ 3.2ghz and 4gig or ram

ive tried overclocking my gpu's with Nvidia's system tools but everytime i do even if its by 10 MHZ i get computer locks up.
Ive tried EVGA and rivatuner but when i go to change the 3d performance clocks they are very low. and the max clocks are lower than my default clock speeds
for example my defualt clocks are core/550 mem/950 shader/1350 and evga displays my max possible overclock rate for the core to be 500.
also i cant change the fan speed in any program i use. is this normal?
please help asap. Ive been trying to solve this for about a week now

edit: also is there a certian ratio i should keep my gpu clocks at. like if i increase the core clock by 10 MHZ should i also increase the shader by 10?
