    I have my new qx9300 installed today take me 49 min to replace it I use artic silver 5 on it after done install the latest bios and setting my fsb to 1285 run 3dmark 06 and get 15985 points and my cpu running at 3.06 mhz stable but after I close 3d mark run cpuz and my cpu shows 1600mhz stable what I am doing wrong please help

    speed step will make the CPU fluctuate depending on your needs. flick your mouse around or hover over some icons and you should see it jump up.

    Yes that is correct, it will raise itself when you need more cpu power.

    Is the multiplier reduced? If it is, that is normal and is from Intel's SpeedStep. It reduces the speed since it detects that you don't need it. When you load the system, it will turn back the multiplier and work at full speed again.

    run any CPU step it will go up he JUST told you that. INTEL SPEED STEP

    google it ....... if halfs your cpu power to save battery life


    undervolting guide will tell you how to disable it

    yeah don't worry about it. eist is what is making it downclock to save the cpu life span, the power comsuption, and many other things. 1600mhz should be the 6x multiplier which is the lowest it will go.
