Ok so i just got my new m17x as far as i can tell i have everything turned on and so on. I installed wow and crysis. Enabled sli and everything that is supposed to be while has this flashy blue color almost like hyper white lightning. any suggestions please help. I called tech and they said to just turn off sli. i know crysis supports it so its not the game itself.

did you update your video drivers?

I can't believe the tech support told you that. I would tell them to kiss my ***....

I believe this is the new 3D glasses setting in the nvidia control panel that detects a direct3d environment and changes the outlines of every model so that, if you have 3d glasses, it looks 3d-ish.

look through the nvidia control panel for a setting that refers to 3D and turn that crapola offfff.

Its the secondary GPU as i had a similar problem. They had no record of it at the time when i called but after 4 hours on the phone im sure they do now :)

SLI enabled brought out a flashing blue color . It was in all games with SLI enabled so its something they need to fix . Oh and im sure they wanted to remote diagnostic in but they wont be able to see it that way . In the end they sent me a new Slave GPU with the SLI cable attached . I tried the cable first and it was still there so it was the GPU afterall.

Call real late at night, atleast thats what i did . It was around 1 am eastern time here when i was on the phone with the guy . New shift of people and there not busy at all .

A week because the first one got lost in the mail . They had dispatched a tech but him and i kept playing phone tag because it got lost , so the second one they sent out he had it mailed to my home and when it got here i called him and told him to save the gas and im doing it myself since i didnt want him to do it anyhow .

oh man who ever got the 280m in the mail must be happy(chances are they don't know what to do with it so they sent it back)

but i hope the tech didn't feel anyway for not even making it out to his house to fix it. but i would do the same.

Nah he was cool about it since im sure he billed them for the labor anyhow :). I told him on the first call if he came he was going to have to watch me do it and at that point he went into the usual schtick about how if i broke anything it wouldnt be covered yada yada yada, but i was fine since i knew i wouldnt break anything anyhow and id be happier to break it then watch someone else break my new machine.

It doesnt always work that way so there will be times they will refuse to let you do it and wont give you the part at all unless its them handling it. I more less lucked out because the second card got shipped to me .

that's nice how dell ship it out to you instead of them so you can do it your self.

lol. i wouldn't do that to the notebook. but i did however get a girls email address when my xbox broke. she said she liked the way how my voice sounded over the phone(i put on the deep smooth voice ;))

Ok guys great news. A tech drove halfway across the state last night with a new card and cable. He had never layed eyes on the new m17x's before so i whipped up Moo's video on changing the gpu's. Between the two of us we got everything replaced in about 20 min. Its working great now everything running smooth. thanks alot to everyone involved in the process.
