So I can't decide which one to get. I will be using it for gaming on mmorpg's and mmofps's. Also using it for school. I will need to bring it to school and use it for my classes.

Now I'm a 19 year old, athletic, guy, who isn't too afraid of weight. But what about the size, is it too big to fit in backpacks? and too big to fit on my lap comfortably.

Also the 17x cost's more. Is it worth the price?

    Thanks

LOL A 17" laptop is bad news for school. You'll find that you're always the last guy to get 'set up' in the lecture halls. Your battery will die during lectures. If you're sitting next to someone, that person will be annoyed. It's just not a good idea.

Have you considered other gaming laptops with good battery and portability? I'd shop around if I was you b/c I made a big mistake last year of using a 17" at school ...what a nightmare.

I'd say the lightest gaming laptop is the MSI gaming series ...they're powerful too and have 3hr battery. Another brand is ASUS, but they're heavier and the battery is crap.

Thank you, most reviews I've read say that 17x's get about 2½hrs, I won't be running very exhausting software in school. I've checked out most other leading laptops, and across the board, the more powerful = much less battery.
More battery = cpu kinda sucks compared to 15x and 17x.

but if you would choose between the 2 whatd u choose?

I'd choose the 15x of course, b/c lugging around a 17" is too much trouble. Sure you can lift it and carry it around, but you have to take into consideration of the facts I pointed out in my previous posts :) But yeah, before making your final decision, give a quick glance to other brands, b/c imo the 15x/17x is overpriced and you could find yourself some better AND cheaper laptops, but if money is not an issue, by all means, grab what 'looks' the coolest :)

I use my M15X for school and have no problems with it so far. I'm still looking for a backpack that isn't too expensive, but it actually fits in my 15 inch messenger bag without issue.

The battery life is just good enough at around 2 1/2 hours with the 9 cell. I did order an extra 6 cell the other day though just in case.

Oh and my M15X is as large as I'd ever want to have in class, as it's just small enough to place on some of the smaller desks and doesn't take up too much space in lecture halls.

Between those two, absolutely the M15x. I shudder at the thought of bring the M17x, a beast of a laptop even as 17" notebooks go, to class.

I'm also buying an M15x for college. However, I'm most likely going to be getting a cheap $300 Dell netbok at the same time, as I don't think I can even stand bringing the 15" to class. A different 15" laptop maybe, but not one so heavy and thick.
