What'll happen to the FPS? Any sites out there testing highend laptops with a big monitor for the display? Any guesstimates what dual 9800GTXs & X9000 running WoW on a 54" LCD tv would be able to do?

Is it up to the game or the display settings in the vidcard options that determines if the output is squished/stretched etc?

    it's up to everything.

my single 8700M GT can handle full detail levels of WoW on my 1920x1200 screen. that's larger than 1080p.

Your 54" LCD TV is probably running a MAXIMUM of 1080p. So, I'd bet that a 9800 GT could power it... and probably really easily.

WoW is NOT a graphics intensive game.

I run my m17x constantly off my 52" Sony. Looks great, plays great. It's a lot of fun to show off to guests too ;)

Good to know thanks. Yeah I figured just didn't want to assume, since this craptastic laptop I have here managed, what, 15 fps on the tv? Was surprising, looked like a slideshow. :p
