When I first got the laptop, I was able to playback blu-ray movies with the pre-installed 174.82 driver. Now that I have updated my driver to 177.92, I can't seem to playback any blu-ray movie. I updated my POWERDVD 8 ultra to the latest version and the message says that my graphic card doesn't have the minimum requirement to play blu-ray movie. Note that I have the 8800 GTX.

I am re-installing the old driver, any other suggestions?

Just to add to this Bebarhood, I am awaiting the official AW version of Powerdvd 7.3 BD edition, once I have this I will install it and see if I can play Blu-Ray... I am currently running 177.92 so it will be a good comparison.

Hopefully I will recieve it early next week...

Could it be because 177.92 drivers don't have WHQL certificate? I think if you update to 177.98 from lv2go, which has WHQL certificate, then the problems will be solved (again, I am not completely sure).

Well i've updated to 177.98 and no problems so far.

I descovered that media cantre wouldn't play dvd's using the 177.92 but, will now so maybe the WHQL issue helped... I'm still waiting for the powerdvd dvd to reload the software but, i'll let you know when it arrives

Sounds helpful guys, but I reinstalled the 174.82 snd I can now play blu-ray movie on my POWERDVD 8.0 ULTRA. So the issue really was from the drivers.

    bhattsan,
Can you confirm if 177.98 can play blu-ray movies?
