Most M5550 Fan tend to work ok. The safest grapics card is a Geforce go 7600 256mb. It runs at 70c. I heard other cards could work. But there need to be a upgrade to the Power strip and more airflow.

Yea the only problem with the M5550 is that there is not a very good way to control the fan. There was a user here (maybe atol) who came up with a batch file that made the fan run a lot more.

A problem you could run into is that the laptop could overheat like mine did which would be very unfortunate.

(By the way I'm at film camp for 3 weeks so I will be a little absent from the forums for a little while).

Just hard to find the 7600go. I had spoken to an alienware rep and says they are offering the 1800x for the m5550 and all I had to do was put it in with thermal pads and paste. Now I know this card runs alot more heat which is why I have been trying to find a way either with a fan script of some kind or a way to solder my fan power directly to the usb port to have it always on. Now I have also ordered an zalman ZM-NC2000 notebook cooler to help. Im trying to be as proactive as I can though.

Thanks for the quick response guys.
