Is there any way to upgrade the graphics card for the notebook or am I going to have to buy a new one? This computer is getting pretty old and i wanted to give it some more life.

You may as well buy a new notebook. I'm assuming you either have the X1400 or the 7600go. You could technically upgrade to the X1800 but the heat output would restrain you to using the notebook on a cooler. May as well spring for a new notebook.
