well, just got an email from ztronics saying that they got a shipment of GO 7600 cards, so i have a backup. gonna try the oven trick tomorrow, if that doesnt work then i will go ahead and order a new card ($200 dang).

i have a question, i want to order 4gb of memory (currently have 2gb installed) not positive on the bios im running 2.06 or 07. is there anything major i will need to change if i do get this memory? i know if i was to upgrade the card to an 8600m i had to downgrade to 2.06 and not be able to use 4gb. but since i can stick to the 7600 card, i want to know what I need to do to be able to use the 4gb, its just gonna be Corsair value select, PC2 5300 memory.

Comp will be on Windows 7 Professional 32bit.

Your system reminds me of my old M9750...seems to be the same chipset and CPU. I don't think it would reconized your 4GB due to your 32bit OS and the chipset. I could never get my M9750 to work...physically you can install them 4GB but it may not be able to use all of them...just 3GB's...hey..would your system take the 7950GTX...check this out!!

The 7950GTX is MXMIII, the m5550 is MXMII. So no.

You can, however, take a look at some ATI cards such as the X1700/1800/1900 that will work in the m5550. Some people have also gotten the HD3650 to work.

You can get any of those better cards for a lot less than $200.
