    Hi everyone :

Just joined today , I have been messing with laptop for a couple of yrs. and thought I would give AW a try ,so I bought a used area 51-m7700 D9T intel 3.2 H/T 6800 ultra. I turned off the other day for about 1hr. then turn it back on ,the lights turned on but nothing happened(black screen) and then I received 1long beep followed by 2 short beeps . I have spent the last 2 wks. trying to trouble shoot but can't find out diddly**** . I ran across this forum so here I am. There seams to be a lot of people here with AW problems. From what I could find out you can not expect any help AW support unless it is still guaranteed . clevo said to contact AW and that is impossible unless you have a account with them. So I thought someone here could help. The fans on the bottom do not come on, I think it is mobo but not sure any help be greatly received. Thanks A lot every one.

To me it sounds like the mobo is the problem here. If it was working and is now not working, I would suggest that you replace the motherboard through clevo, since they are essentially the same computers.

Wait for others opinions first though so you get a variety of advice.

Yeah try to reseating your video card. I had the same problem with my m7700, before the mobo died. The spring screws that they use to hold the card down vibrate loose sometimes. While you have it open make sure your hard drive cables are seated also, both ends.

Thanks for your fast reply, pulled vid card removed old thermal compound replaced with AS ceramic replaced and check hdd connections , still getting same beeps.would a bad vid card keep the cooling fans from coming on . A video card would be a lot cheaper. Thanks again.
