Owner of an m9750 having trouble getting the 5.1 to work.
Am using current/ latest sound drivers/ bios/ service packs.
using vista premium/ business and not working with either. it worked with media center/ xp home/ xp pro.

Have not yet tested with any distros.

    Front / surround+ center dont

if I plug in the center or surround cables into the headphone jack, they work.
Using vista utilities and the sound manager confirms that the speakers are attached and are working with full 5.1 output. media playback fails to produce 5.1 channel sound, only stereo (2 out of 5 speakers).

Using songbird media player version 0.6 and WMP 11
also using k-lite codec pack with included movie player for dvd's and mpeg, avi's

any help with this problem is really appreciated.

I just don't use my laptop in that fashion. sorry man ><. A lot of things don't work for me in Vista but do work in XP.. At this time, the camera and the touch function keys don't work at all. No big deal for me because I never use the camera and I always disable the function keys (I accidentally hit them sometimes while fumbling to hit an F-Key)
