Hi, if there are any owners of a m9750 with dual 7950GTX's out there I need some help. I just sent my PC in for a videocard replacement and don't believe they replaced it at all! I see only one way of telling if one is old and one is new...The labels on the copper parts leading to each videocard. Mine both say 2007/05/09. Please be willing to open the pc, it's not hard. Does anyone who has had a videocard replacement of some sort have contrasting dates or wildly different serial numbers from the new and old videocard? Thank you so much!

unfortunately it didn't fix the problem...my 3dmark scores are 5502 with both cards on. Alienware gave my pc a half-ass job...they didn't even blow the dust out when they placed the video card inside.

Are you sure you're running in high performance mode? I really would try to the 174.16 set. It's a good set for the m9750.

Thinking in terms of the fact that the 7950GTX's are out of production Alienware may well have replaced your cards with ones from a returned/upgraded system. Try the drivers, the stock ones were never partictularly good.

I assume the copper parts you referred to are the heat pipes. It is possible that the card was replaced witha new one and the original heat pipe was reused. You would have to examine the card itself for a revision or date or serial number to verify if it was the same card or a new one.

Right now I'm typing on an Imac at camp and I don't have the tools to examine my M9750 to tell you when my cards were from or I would.

My suggestion (even though it sucks) would be to call the roswell crew and talk to them about the issue as they have seemed to resolve many issues that users have been having.

Alienware sent the old cards back with my upgrade. I didn't see much performance improvement, probably because the drivers and dx10 are not optimized yet. Some folks have had success using new beta nvidia drivers and adding the card i.d. to the inf file.

No DX10 support with the 7950's, only the 8700s have DX10 support in the m9750.

Try running in non-SLI and tell us what your 3dmark06 score is. Default everything. Then switch over to SLI, reboot and run the test again. I want to compare the data.

Some other tools you could try using to get more information about your system:
ntune - from nvidia for TEMP as well as what frequency your video and memory is running at.
RivaTuner - More Temp Data that provides trend data.
GPU-Z - GPU info, BIOS etc, more clock frequencies, etc.
