    First of all,
Hi to everybody (first post :p)
My Problem is that my m9750 (almost 2 years old) is overheating i think (while gaming: CPU:75°C and GPU:85°C). I don't know so much about Laptop Temperatures btw. Sometimes while gaming the system shuts down (No Bluescreen or something. Simply off)
I have already cleaned both ventis from dust.
I hope one of you guys can help me with this problem. Do I need a cooling-plate or something? As i said I dunno very much about Laptop cooling.
    Thanks for every help!

I have that problem too, Ive never had it shut off though, My GPUs idle around 75 Degrees and in games can easily go to 100+, Not good, Need to give it a nice clean again.

Try changing the thermal paste as the 1st time i did it (From Stock to new stuff) it reduced the temps by a very substantian amount. (I used Arctic Silver 5, Not the best but it was all i had to hand at the time)

Also try taking the heat sinks out (You will have to, to change the heat paste anyway :p) and giving them a propper clean as mine had a lot of very fine dust in the heatsink that wasn't easily removed by normal canned air.

Just ensure that when you put it all back together everything makes good contact.

    P.S - I'm assuming you have the 7950GTXs over the 8700GTs :p

Same here. I did something more drastic and drilled two holes benieth each fan. Helped a bunch but is louder now. I think the thermal tape might be wearing out. But I really don't want to replace or do any more modding to it.

That's not really overheating. It's HOT, but it's overheating.

On full load my CPU has hit 78C before, and my GPUs have even hit 90C when I've been playing Crysis. My GPUs usually go to 85C each during a good gaming session.

    No I haven't a laptop cooler.
And I have to correct my temps! GPU has while Gaming 105°C (Also in Stresstest with Furmark). So I think this is the reason why the system shuts down. I'll give a try to a new thermal paste later and report it then.

Yeah, 105C is far too high. Get some new paste on that, if that doesn't work then the cards might be defective.

I would really like to do that. But I'm a student and don't have money ;'(

I have bought some new thermal paste and covered CPU and GPU with it. So far it seems to be better. In Stresstests my GPU went up to 96°C (before 105°C) and CPU to 80°C (before ~85°C).
I have also to say that the old thermal paste in it was just like stone! It was really hard to clean this up!

My Paste was Solid too when i changed it, Also the temperatures lowered a bit more after the burn in period.

I just try to keep my laptop in slightly elevated postions and a cooler did help.

For some reason though i haven't been able to get it anywhere close to what it originally used to be, Still my 7950GTXs have always run hot so I'm not too worried. :D
