my new icons and theme from alienware is so nice

my new alienguise (alien invader) icons and theme from alienware for vista is so nice so wtf didnt aw shipped my laptop with this theme? i had to find it on their webpage.

funny they dont test the laptops and software to see if they work properly before they ship them.

I guess this is called ALienware quality assured.

 

The theme has been available for less than 2 weeks.

The best thing on my m15x is the AlienGUIse Alienware Invader Theme LOL

 

yeah, they only came out with the vista version a couple weeks ago. plus I'm personally not a fan of them, so I am happy I didn't get it (but still I have the chance to get it if I want it)

very cool. what if i install it, then don't like it? can i just uninstall it? will my settings still be the same as before? or will i have to reconfigure everything?

 

yea you have options in the alienguise so revert back to the vista theme you had

 

yeah but it says "default windows vista theme".... so will my settings be lost, or will they still be there?

Alienguise is just a stripped down version of Stardock software suite's most popular program, Windowsblinds. Having used Windowblinds myself a can testify that it slows the system boot time, and can become a memory hog. Alienware has a strict no bloatware policy. Installing alienguise by default would violate that policy as many would think that it is a shameless attempt to sell Stardock's product.

 

well i like it because it looks so unique to this brand like APPLE have their own.

BTW why are Apple computers so much better when it comes to multimedia? Why cant we have the same on PC?

 

Tyronne apple computers are the exact same as PC now in hardware (beside lower gfx card options)

only diference is the Operating system OSX is based off linux and is very simple and stripped down.. lacking many features of a windows PC that at first u may not notice but after a extended period of time will annoy you the software suport of apple is really nuthing compared to Windows sistems..

Apple OSX is good at running average day to day things .. typing.. music.. movies..but alot of very important programs to me as a some what hardcore user are not supported at all..

for example Dvix stage6 (which was a great loss for apple users in online media playback when stage6 was active back in 2007).

and any version of Directx which it has 0 suport while runing OSX on its own.

not to mention silverlight which will soon be the new flash/online media standard which is windows only.


Apple is good for very simple dar i say casual personal computer use but as more media becomes online and if silverlight wins the online media streaming war... having a apple will not be very fun at all ..


also apple seem to actively discourage video game play which i find extreamply insulting as its the love of my life ^_^. All there efforts in starting mac gaming have been half a$$ed and failures they simply don't care and think it would negatively impact there pure and virginal computer experience that they brand there products with .

 

hey bro you have informed and educated me very well here thanks for the tips - i wont be buying apple then but i jus love the multimedia photos and videos on iMac and Apple Macbook pro.

I ordered a new Apple Macbook Air for my daughter today it is very light and very portable she is so happy.

THe quality of the Apple laptop is very nice indeed a big contrast to Alienware computers.
