So i will start out by saying this has driven me nuts..lol..
two identical systems period same respawn same ram ....same (qx9300)
so i overclocked one system and the system did great 3.20 with drakes regedit workaround. no problems everything awesome not one bsod at all...but the fx chip is blown on the board..sucks..SOOOOO i decided to swap it with my system that could only do 3.06...thanks to moo and drake and there help i started to do this...1 hr and 29 min later...lol..i had them both swapped with artic silver 5 blah blah blah...low and behold the system that did 3.20 before ...still is doing 3.20...and the system that did 3.06 before still does 3.06 no change at all...
temps did get better on both systems though...lol...
for some reason i think that is has everything to do with the motherboard and the combination of that (**special cpu***)...very frustrating because i want to compete with the big boys and with the system that i will say is pretty flawless...will only do only 3.06![]()

you mean that 9300 which had 3.20 on old motherboard (where fx chip blown) and on new exactly this chip has 3.06? so it means that all depends from mother..

yes ...i have swapped them twice...and i just installed another qx9300 that i had bought seperate.and guess what 3.06....but when i put it on the other system 3.20.....freckin crazy .....
i think moo was right when he said that he thinks that it depends on the motherboard -
the nvidia chipset is so complicated a single little flaw will screw it all up.
I really do not like the chipset they used -

well you can't replace it but the PM55 will be on the next M17x with the I7 but there are no QPI hack out yet
-
That chipset is ideal for ultra-portables.

What is usually involved with a refresh?...Cost wise & process?
I've never done it before. -

I agree that the Nvidia chipset is a huge cluster. I mean, for a gigabit ethernet port, and a wireless N card, I have FOUR ADAPTERS with FOUR SEPARATE DRIVERS in device manager. Seriously, WTH Nvidia?
Edited to add- I still love the heck out of this machine. I'm just griping. -
