Under-volting your CPU will drop its temperature massively while gaming like never before, but please do it PROPERLY!!!
For i7-7820HK + GTX 1080, 150 is the sweet spot for me, it might not work for you, so I would recommend you to test it out via CPU stress test, thanks to @MogRules for pointing out. A value of 150 is equal to the actual offset value of -0.150 V. The temperature dropped 25 degrees Celsius for me during the CPU stress test(approx).
XTU's auto-applying feature is really unstable and it just doesn't work for me most of the time, so I thought it would be great to just write a little program based on the XTU's command line tool.
I'll continue to improve the program in the future with new features and fixes. But for now, I just hope it helps![]()
If you found any bugs or errors, or if you have any suggestions about the program, please let me know in the comment below, I appreciate it!
I just found a bug (prob related to process handling) which could cause the application to crash.

Not everyone will have success at 0.150 , some will not be able to get that far as their chips won't handle it. Mine will lock up and restart if I try to drop it to those levels. Every laptop will be slightly different and they will have to find the sweet spot for their chips.

I'll probably add a CPU stress test into the program, that should be a handy feature when it comes to testing between different state of CPUs from different PCsLast edited: Feb 16, 2018Vasudev likes this. -
@ThatOldGuy found a way to implement this awhile ago. Thread's here.
As a side note, I use @unclewebb ThrottleStop instead of XTU to undervolt my 2 machines. Personally I find ThrottleStop's design, documentation, and primer easier to understand and use.
Also, setting up ThrottleStop to automatically undervolt at time of startup is much easier, and the undervolt is more reliable.Vasudev likes this. -
Of course, it's always nice to have a more advanced app there like ThrottleStop, I wouldn't compare my program with ThrottleStop though because myUndervolt is a very simple, small program and it's completely based on command line. The steps which you need to do are actually not that much (ik I wrote a bunch of texts there) and it's very easy to understand imo cuz there's just 1 feature available for right now.Last edited: Feb 16, 2018Vasudev likes this. -

myUndervolt v1.0 - Adjust the voltage offset value & automatically under-volt your CPU at startup
