nameplate - What did you put on yours?

hey guys i was wondering what you guys put on your nameplate. i was thinking just my name? any suggestions?

 

I just put my name on my nameplate. It's simple, timeless, and a useful way to determine the laptop's true owner!

no custom nameplates in Latin America...

I wonder if it wont have a nameplate at all, or it will just say "M15x"...

but I guess I would have thought of something funny to write there... like:

"Do Not Resucitate"
"Keep your greasy fingers off!"
"Ima turtle! Put me back 'n mah feet!"

IF and when someone gets a factory replacement, switch out nameplates.
The Generic plate that came on my replacement said M15x, kind of an fyi for generics too. From experience.

 

It just says M15x...

 

I forgot to tell the salesrep what I wanted and he never asked. So mine just has M15x.

 

you should complain about not being asked that and have them send you a custom plate...

 

I seriously forgot to change it, so it's "M15x".

sure, just nag them about how its their responsibility to let you know of such things, they are the sales rep and not you, and blah blah...

 

You could, of course, just take it off and have the back engraved at a local trophy shop to say whatever you want

 

If they had offered it, I would have put something like 'Property of Scotland Yard'. Might scare potential thieves.

 

I purchased a used M15x. Original owner kept the nameplate. That being said, once the warranty was successfully transferred to my name I called to inquire about a replacement nameplate. The rep was unable to locate a part number in the system. They made no promises, but said they would see what they could do. Two business days later FedEx began making delivery attempts to my home. Had no clue who the parcel was from. Was not expecting anything. Called FedEx and had them hold the item for pickup. Turned out to be a nameplate for my M15x, my full name as showing per my DELL account engraved on the nameplate. Talk about excellent customer service!

 

Just put my name and the year 2010 on it.

Youre right, i wasnt able to customize my Nameplate . . And gues what, my ETA is like yours 07/07/2010, hope we can get our machines tomorrow (mine is M17x by the way)

My M11x has my email engraved on the plate. Figured if I lost the computer someone might e-mail me although it is highly more likely they will just keep the computer and send me a e-mail saying "HAHAHA I have your computer."

Used a character out of the book I wrote, the first time. This time I'll probably use my screen name since it's still related to the book. My real name is too long anyway.

 

I put UNREAL on both of mine. It's not like I'm admiring the tag that often anyway. It's on the bottom plate.

Just an FYI for others, my understanding is you can unscrew the nameplate to remove the plate. The new owner can order a new nameplate with wording that they want on their plate.

Yeah it is but at least if you go to sell it doesn't have your name on it .
I'm not disagreeing but I can just see trying to sell a laptop that says "Alien Lover", "take me to your leader", "Iron Monkey , or whatever else someone puts on for personal preference.
And yes I know you can order your own custom plate but I'd rather not do that.
And to those that might actually have those names/tags on there nameplate it was all coincidental and not meant to make fun or harm anyones feelings.
