new Alienware notebook

i was just wondering if anyone know about a new alienware note book coming out soon, i saw something on the breed thread, i didnt know if maybe there was a timeframe?

 

It'll probably be announced by the middle of September. Voodoo is coming out with a 15" with a 9800M GT or a 9800M GTX, or maybe even something faster, soon, too, so look out for that. A Voodoo rep on the forum already said that it would be better than the 8800M GTS, then again, Alienware might offer the 9800M GTX in their next laptop, too.

Voodoo said that they were coming out with a 15" by the end of the year, if you read responses by Voodoo reps on NBR and on Voodoo's forum. iMaxx (a Voodoo rep on this forum) said it'll be faster than the fastest HP, which is a 20" laptop with an 8800M GTS. I read on Voodoo's forums that we should see an announcement by the end of the month.

 

It just a wait and See. I do know they are comming out with a differnt grapics card for the M17X and no it not the 360. All I know was it will be the geforce 9+ cards. I would guess the 9800. That just a Guess.

 

and from where (and whom!), prey, do you know this?

 

man....with all the other laptops coming out with the new gpu's, cpu's, ITM 2.0 at 2-4G....
has anyone heard or seen anything that AW is going to get in the game soon with upgrades (or updates if you will) to thier laptop lineup?
seems a bit odd that AW would fall this far behind the curve....

not here. however, OCZ has some new SSD's (250Gb ), so they might sneak into the config options.

i have read that OCZ is inferior a bit due to the way it reads/writes as compared to other ssd makers...
do you have any knowledge of what i am talking about?
something like MLS or MSL vice SCL or some such thing...i get cornfused after awhile

 

good question but i think you'll find they were the leaders with the release of the m15 & m17x even though i think a lot of us know that the m15 was a mistake to bring it out so soon without the full testing of the heating and downclocking issues.

BRE3D is the next thing but your guess is as good as the rest of us in what it will be.and i cant see it out for quite a while yet. we are only upto segment 2 of the breed video release and it sounds like there are quite a few more to follow.

 

yes they were the leaders in the release (even if they did have several issues to contend with afterwards). but with the lack of progression to update, and seeing several others with casing issues, it would seem they would desire to bring out a new and improved version to offset the negative the recent m15x has generated. at least if i was the CEO i would....

the BRE3D thing is all hype thus far to me. i know it is but up to number 2 with no known finite number of episodes it could go as far as next year...lol
i dont mind a bit of hype and secrecy, but man...it seems they put more into that then actually getting back a gamer with a desire to get an AW....

 

the new voodoo laptop is going to be more about Materials and battery life than performance i think.

Why els would they limit it only to the HP laptop line up.. must be a sigle ATI card or any thing.. but def not a 9800m GTX or even a 9800m GT imo.

Voodoo have put some very nice features into the Envy 133 .. im intersted to see what they do with the envy 155 (i guess?)

 

actually i was not impressed with the envy unit...
maybe it is just me....

 

I only liked it because it means that the Macbook air is not the "thinnest" laptop anymore, even though they still market it that way... which is a technically false advertising...

 

i have not looked to compare specs, but maybe they beat the envy by just enough to keep up the adverts....

and did you check with the forums commission about the merger to make sure it does not conflict with rules and regulations surrounding forum mergers....
