I intend to buy compressed air and give it a good old cleaning out. but does anyone know of any software that allows u to control the speed. Because even when idle the fan runs at full RPM.

Like most notebooks, probably not possible.

It will need to be a propriety program to control the fans just like how Dell has I8kfangui.

Moved to AW section as existing AW users might know a way.

Currently, there is no program that can control the fanspeed on any AW laptops. Please check out my poll. I'll see what I can do.

I would recommend flashing the BIOS to a newer one . . . make sure you call Alienware and have them walk you through it though so you don't void your warranty.
