    ok guys a slight problem with raid 0

    i had 2x 160 gb har ddrive setup for raid 0 from the configuration but the main drive shows only 134 gb total? any suggestions?

    lol ok well alienware screwed me over they did not have a 2nd hard drive installed and ready with the raid 0.
    i just found out they did not have a 2nd hard drive in.
    also let me ask you guys something, if i have a 160 gb hard drive, shouldn't the system main drive read 160gb space total? my main drive reads total 143 gb its the total amount of the hard drive.

    well...does alienware have a hidden partiton for system restore...that might what is eating up your hard drive space....

    You dont have RAID0, so thats a moot point; and no, you will not get 160GB with a 160GB HDD, HDD manufacturers have been pulling this for decades; which is why recently one of the standards boards TRIED changing GB to 1000 and GiB to 1024 (which I can't see working as the old terminology is too ingrained).

    Your 160GB is in fact 155GB (GiB), throw on the OS/programme restore partition at about 10GB and you're about there. This only gets worse as your HDDs get larger, I only get about 598 out of my 640GB setup even without restore partitions.
