My old m17x has no warranty whatsoever, the problem is the faulty motherboard. And since it was not mine to begin with im out of luck on replacing m17x motherboard. Will i be able to take apart the old model m17x and upgrade it into an m15x?

If i list this non working m17x with faulty motherboard will people buy it for the parts and not the motherboard? Its got dual 8800m gtx, and core 2 2.8 X9000 160 gig of hard drive, the works.
The only part is motherboards not working, and i checked out the repair shops they dont service old model of m17x, finding a new motherboard for old m17x is Impossible. Any suggestions?

I believe people would, its got some nice hardware in there as well as a set of dual 8800m gtx (so they would be the ones with sli connector and mother and daugter cards i think, not so sure on this but they could definately sell concidering there still very strong in the GPU line :) )

Ok so i should try out the notebook marketplace here then ebay.
I dont want to throw the whole laptop away either its not right when the only broken part is the motherboard. Everything works the 4 gig memory ram, dual 8800gtx, and core 2 extreme 2.8 x9000 cpu?

only the original m17x motherboard will fit/work, and you very probably won't find it at any online shops. AW is the only way to go, but since you have no warranty...

By the way i dont want to break apart the actual laptop m17x so hum we'll see how it goes o the laptop marketplace. Ill sell this as is for your spare parts. especially since i purchased this for $3000. See if anyone on here wants to use this laptop as spare parts for your laptops.

You could see if someone on here with an old M17x will check with Alienware on pricing for a MB.

Then you can buy it from them...possibly by a BUY IT NOW auction on Ebay.

I already posted in your other thread, but did you bother phoning up Alienware and asking them about purchasing a new motherboard?
Cross posting btw is against forum rules.
