You should go cheap on the processor, so you can buy an X9000 or T9500 from eBay.

Upgrading the processor voids the warranty though . . .
Congrats on the machine.I like your config, it is beastly.

I went cheap on memory and HD, i don't want to build the whole thing myself, haha.
Thanx Chaz, hopfully it won't be as beastly as that 17in that I had, heck I'll be happy if it just fits in my backpack.
EDIT* Nope, it's too late, I wont change nothing, it will just add delays. -
another wastage of money
Turbo Cache Memory: Intel® Turbo Memory (1GB) – Accelerate Data Transfer Speed
better get a 4gb ultra high speed memory stick and use it for readyboost. that can really improve your performance when compared to just 1gb turbo memory which is nothing but wastage of money -

It will fit in your backpack for sure.
I strongly recommend buying a nice sleeve for the notebook. I suggest one from WaterField Designs:

I use one with my all-glossy HP and it has provided excellent protection. Review here:

Yeah, I know I'm a waster of money, it's my american nature,
Yeah we'll see about cod4, people want to play me, and than for some reason call me a jerk and leave the server. -
Hope everything goes fine with the re order steven
At least you were able to save some cash with the recent price drop -
I just wanna make sure that u have read some of the m15x topics in here. If u know the risk then congrats on your laptop

The one last problem with the m15x now is the hinge. It does feel rather flimsy and the lid creaks when you open it. This has resulted in about 20 cases of busted hinges from NBR.
I have done a remedy for it steven, check out my thread re making the m15x black -

Yeah, I see what you mean, those guys didn't know how to take care of the laptops, huh? especially that Stone guy...
No but seriously, thanks MastaMarek, but it seems to me with everything you buy, there usually comes some risk, like my new 08 Dodge Avenger, (Yeah, I wanted the Charger). But I've gone through 5? 6? maybe 7 laptops in the last 5 months, and the whole time, all I wanted was the m15x, and I'm the type that needs to learn from my mistakes. so far in loss of shipping/shipping back fees I've lost a few hundred. Now knowing that AW has a 15% restocking fee, it will prohibit me from sending it back because I don't like it. So this will be the last one, last time. thankfully, at least my wife sure hopes so, haha.
PS, Vote for McCain. -

gratz Steve....
