hey guys. i just had a quick question. i placed an order on june 30 and as of this post the order is still processing.

i was just wondering if this is normal. the EDD is july 23. i didnt really know how long it generally took them to process an order. just wondering if something may have gotten screwed up or if it just takes a while.

    thanks in advance.

What I remember, my order was in processing while the original credit check was being done. What Dell did was charge my cred card then not process the debit, therefore they know your account is good for the purchase. Then my status changed to 'in production'. Most people don't have access to their credit card status and don't know this happens very frequently. Almost every gas station (in the U.S.) does the same thing, they charge your card, about $50 dollars, when you swipe for fuel, but then only debit your account the actual purchase.
Good news, the 'in production' status was not an additional two weeks, from order to receiving was my two weeks. MY guess is the 4th of July 'USA Banking' holiday caught you with a few extra days, including today the 5th.

"Processing" can also mean that they are waiting on a backordered part to be delivered to the manufacturing facility, hence the estimated delivery date of 3 weeks.

It can mean either they are truely processing your machine and it's not being built, or in the case of my recently built machine it can be a poorly managed system update. My machine was showing that it hadn't even started the build process due to a supposed backordered cpu until the day it shipped and showed a waybill/tracking number, it literally went from "not built" to "it'll be there tomorrow morning", so don't worry to much.
