    ordering M17 soon KEYBOARD with lights ?

    vote here 50 dollars extra for the M17 with lighted keyboard

    ..if they dont light correctly ... would look cheep and out of place for such a nice laptop

    add coments i have been reading here the keyboard lights are not good and patchey - some keys half on .. some brighter ect? some not lighting at all?

    If the ambient lighting is dim it is almost impossible to see the keys without the lights. Even though they are not as high quality as the m17x all powerful, they are still better than no lights and worth the small cost IMO.

    if these keyboards dont light up correctly why pay 50 dollars for the option i dont understand all the yes votes ..

    I guess it's better to have something rather than nothing. The M17 is really not that flashy, so without the lights it will look awfully plain. Unless you are into that.

    Anyway, the green lights up OK.

    I sometimes play at night when the wife is in bed and I like the lights :)

    yes vote!!!!! I like the lights.. they match the mouse that also has blue led's... I like green too!

    btw the screen reflection is definitly not enof you wont even see if you are on the keys or on the computer case (btw screen light ok but mat black mean no reflexion at all on your case)

    they do look awfull when in day light but as soon as the lighting begin to dimm the green looks great and the red is not so bad but for the blue you need to be in the full night to enjoy it

    but it's shinny and cool so i'd vote ya

    what about what i have read on the net .. patchy some of the keys dont light up some do some brighter some not ect.

    Compared to the M17x or even the lighting on the m17x and the m15x, the M17 is nothing to wrote home about. They are not the brigtest lights around. They are quite dim (I say this after having both computers at a time).

    Do you want the lights or not? You are the one that will be using the computer not the people that respond to the forum. It's a matter of personal perspective. Dim for me might be bright for you and vice versa.

    You cant go wrong with the backlit keyboard besides if u get a logitech g9 u can make the colors match up like i do!!! Lights FTW non backlit FTL

    all keys are lighted only somme are much better lighted up than others it depends on the color and the darker the room you are in is the less you will notice it
