I plan on buying 4Gb of ram for it instead of paying 200, does anyone know what manufacturer makes the ram for alienware?
Or has anyone put in Mushkin or Corsair ram in their because they have worked very well in my desktops in the past.

Any RAM will do as long as your buying notebook RAM.

Not sure if the M17 can use DDR3 or not as it is not 200-pin.

    The M17 uses DDR3 SODIMM's.
