guys, have any of you ever ordered from dell singapore?

when i went to dell direct shop, i was informed that they usually do not do the personalised name tags, as it would delay your order by a month or 2.

has anyone had this problem as well? or is this sales rep just pulling a fast one to save himself the trouble of getting the nameplate for me?

Just order, the 1 month or two seems like a 'we wanna cover our butts' thing. They'd probably take 1-2 weeks to deliver it still, the 1-2 months is more a contingency timeframe. I reside in Singapore, and one of my friends who ordered with a custom nameplate got it in 13 days, haha.

Just get the custom nameplate, you'll regret getting that ugly 'M15x' logo on the computer base like I do. When I ordered mine, they did not have such an option. =(

name plate thing is relatively new here in singapore i think. i got mine in april and dint have personalised name tags at that time. not a bad thing either if u want to sell it off later.

imo i dont think it should delay your order by even a few days since its not that hard to engrave name plates and i seriously doubt there are SO many alienware orders that theres a massive queue for production.

btw im selling my m17x r2 and im in sg, pm me if ur interested.

im actually looking at getting a m15x. the 17 is too big a beast to lug to uni on a daily basis.

well, the way that the sales rep at funan explain the delay it would cost me to get a personalised plate, i imagined that they did not have the required machines to engrave it in singapore and maybe had to order it from the US or something.

or it could be that he was being an lazy ar$e and didnt want to get it done for me.

as for haggling, online pricing was 4k, and he offered me 3.8k. you guys think he can be pushed futher? my specs are i7-840,5850,8gb,640hdd and 3 year complete cover

direct price drops are highly unlikely, might be able to get free stuff like a tactx mouse/headset or price off extended warranty.
