Hey guys, after doing some searching around about the dell customer service, I was wondering if it is worth it to buy the premium warranty because of the lack of "US support." A lot of the troubles about the customer service, from what I have read, is because customers cannot get through to a US rep.

So is it worth it to get the premium warranty? or is basic/advance good enough? (keep calling until you get a US rep?) lol.

With basic and advanced you will get a rep from one of three places - Costa Rica (best), El Salvadore (bad), India (worst). Only the premium will get you US and it will be "everytime". Plus with premium you get a type of account manager that you can directly contact. I think it's worth it.

If you can't afford premium just buy basic (unless you are clumsy then advanced is for you!) and keep trying until you get a Costa Rican tech, they are actually really good (original AW techs pre-dell).

id have to say i agree

how ever there are sometimes like if i have something during the regular business day trouble during business hours i will usualy get a US rep only because the company i worked for wich was HP got me a corprate 30 percent discount on my AW system when i bought it
its also registered under Major Corprate Business
so i get a US rep even without paying hte extra unless its on a weekend of after 8pm i think then i usualy get INDIA but i usualy just try to keep calling back and back untill i get the ones that sound like they talk better lol

Is there a direct number to techs in Costa Rica or does it have to be a crap shoot every time you call?

Unfortunately no. But once you get a good tech you can usually get their name and email. Then you can actually request them (takes longer since they are not just waiting for just you to call). But above all be polite. It really helps.
