problem with aliensense on m17x

I just got my m17x today and was trying to configure aliensense in the command center. When I start the command center and click on the SENSE text it just has a UFO on the screen and nothing loads unlike the FX, FUSION, and TOUCH which all work fine. The only other problem I noticed is that when I launch Control Panel for the first time after a reboot I get an error that says FAEnrollWiz has stopped working. I know the camera works because it works fine in YouCam. I searched and saw that reinstalling Command Center could fix it but I tried that and it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I had this issue too at times.. Seems like that part of command center doesnt work right all the time.. then after a few reboots it started working again.. no apparent reason.

 

I am having the same problem since updating....one thing...you have to run as admin (right click then click run as admin) on aliensense to get into settings. But when I get to login screen it just hangs searching for webcam? I also can access the webcam via youcam? weird? I will keep playing and if I can't get it working I will revert to the original. So much for an UPDATED version...lol

 

ok, I got mine working...here's what I did:

1. uninstall using program manager
2. reboot
3. reinstall
4. reboot and WAIT for aliensense to reconfigure and ask for you to configure...

Let me know how that works out for you. Fixed mine and it seems to be much better then original for recognition!

 

which version of command center should i install?

 

I used the new one direct from the dell website....

 

tried that and i am having the same problem. i am still getting this FAEnrollWiz has stopped working when i reboot and the UFO is the only that shows up when i click aliensense. it doesn't matter if i run as administartor or not it still does the same thing.

 

Did you remove command center reboot and reinstall? I read that installing it over itself can break reg keys and mess things up. Just curious on how you reinstalled it.

 

unistalled in control panel
rebooted
reinstalled clean version of Command Center R224749 from dell
rebooted
relaunch command center and I still have the same problem. just seeing the UFO and then get an error that say FAEnrollWiz has stopped working. I get that error whether of not I launch Command Center. I read somewhere that FAEnrollWiz is what what runs to allow you to register a face in Aliensense and if that doesn't work aliensnese won't work at all.
I think i need to figure out how to get FAEnrollWiz to run without crashing but I can't find that on my sytem anywhere.

 

If you run the program with command center already installed it should auto uninstall. Then reboot..reinstall. I noticed when I uninstalled with the program it edited the registry. Maybe it will help.

Tried that and it still didn't work.

 

For this issue you will need to:

· uninstall the command center

· restart the computer

· install the latest version of command center found under support.dell.com and setup the application.

 

A little Off topic,

When I try to login with aliensense, for the first second my picture is clear but after that, it seems like the contrast decreases automatically and it says its too dark to recognize my face.

Anyone else with the same problem?
