    Its where I got mine for $250 and it works great.
    The seller Shirley on ebay is a reputable one
    and several people in this forum has used him.
    Ebay is the best place to get a quad, I would say...

    Thank you for confirming that shirley is legit. I was looking the other day and there are some CHEAP prices on those chips.

    Out of curiosity though, is it correct that the ES tends to have lower temps than retail?

    No and i dont know who made up that story. Chips can run at all different temps be it OEM Retail ES etc .

    I retract my last statement and yes ES might run cooler so Ben you should buy one of each and report back :D . Make sure you post your divorce papers along with the results of the CPU temps as well .

    Lol no its a chip to chip thing any of them can run hotter or colder since they are rated for such high temps to begin with.

    Right out of the box, i power it on, make a backup image with acronis then its usually straight in the bios for some fun. There is no need to wait and this is not a car where back in the day they wanted you to break it in for the first 1000 miles. They punish these chips to some extent long before it makes it into your hands.
