    question about average lifetime of m15x

    just wondering when should i expect my m15x parts or hardware to fail ?
    because there is no service here in my country.
    does anyone had an experience in that?

    This is not a question that can be accurately answered . . .

    Each piece of hardware is different. Computer chips can last many years; I think it is not unreasonable to expect three years of life out of your machine, or more if it is taken care of right.

    Install BIOS x36 (Which addresses thermal issues, and helps prevent the nVidia 8600m/8700m cards which have a known die defect from overheating and failing) and run a cooler under it to also reduce the temp, and it will last approx 3-5 years. Without the bios fix and the cooler the lifespan of the card and internal components will be greatly reduced. Overheating is one of the known issues of the m15x.

    The M15x only came out about a year or so ago, but I think atleast three years is a very reasonable estimate given you take good care of the machine.

    I agree three years is reasonable and what I expect to get out of it. After that I want a new one anyway :)

    The way 'puters change so fast in 4 years it'll be oboslete. So don't worry.
