    qx 9300 not reading extreme?

    Why in cpuz does my qx9300 not show as an extreme processor?It shows as a core 2 quad?as name of processor it says core 2 quad t9400.In intel picture in top right corner it shows core 2 quad in blue not black and doesnt say extreme.

    in vista it says core 2 extreme cpu q9300 so wheres extreme ?

    i am getting about 15100 at 3.2.I just downclocked to 3.07 ang got 15445 :)

    it is also more stable at 3.07 it passes occt and prime 95 the 3.2 only passed 3dmark 06.

    Mine reports the same from CPU-z - My guess is that it's just a glitch in cpu-z cause of the 2.53GHz clock speed and the 1066 FSB. Cpu-z is probably reading that and defaulting to the T9400. I'm just guessing here.. but it makes sense.

    Yeah, CPU-Z 1.47 reads it as a Extreme (but gets a few other fields wrong), whereas 1.48/1.49 show it as a T9400, but in the ID string it clearly says Extreme.
