    say if I order one from alienware

    and I have a fault with mine

    and if I am not living in the US

    will Dell in my native country be able to service and repair my m17x alienware laptop ?

    Dell owns Alienware now. If they can't service it, they don't deserve to exist as a company.

    Dell has taken over production so you'll be ordering and receiving tech support/service from them not from AW.

    Well, to answer your question, I think you should contact Alienware directly so you'll know for sure. Any of us speculating isn't going to ensure warranty coverage.

    yes dell owns AW now, but in biz world, AW is still a compnay in its own right.
    i would venture you would need to send it 'whever' AW rep(s) advise you to...regardless if dell or an AW outlet.

    with the powerhouse and backing of dell, and the worlwide name of dell, i would not see why you would not be able to, but then again, you are crossing lines from one biz and another....

    who would you then blame or hold responsible after the repair and another fault is found? dell or AW?
