you could try going to Alienware's site and plugging in what features are in the unit, and seeing what it would cost new... then discount it by 10-15% and resell it, because of the fact that it's used.

probably the best way to rid yourself of it.

    Welcome to the forum davidjasondiaz,

You'll likely have to cut 30% or more unless you get really lucky.

It looses at least 15-20% when it gets to your house before you even open the box.

1200-1300$ perhaps? the SSD and BR make it kinda hard to judge.

If you want the most back for it, take out the SSD and sell that seperately.

You should be able to get $1000 for it w/o ssd and maybe a 200GB 7.2k rpm hdd.

    but an 8700 card?
id say keep the ssd in, that the biggest thing going for it.

and i would side with whizzo...but remember the warranty does not xfer either.
    shoot for 1200.

You can get $500 for the SSD alone.

    So, $1200 - $500 = $700 -- for a M15x???

500 for a used SSD? (made me laugh there)
thats like trying to sell the leather seats from a bently, then trying to sell the car with cloth ones or none at all.
and this is IF he can sell it seperate.

A 256GB SSD will get about that much on fleabay (depending on make). If it is the sammsung (rebranded or not) they go for $700 - $800 new, so I'd pay $500.

And when it comes to a used ssd, who cares? At least I know it works fully and I know how to properly kill an SSD disk to get peak performance.

Go ahead and laugh... Your ignorance made me laugh :)

LOL... I almost bought someones M15x in the BST section - just couldn't get over the fact that if something happens I'll have no warranty support.

    That sucks, IMO.

and how much was on the table?

and the highlight is another reason i stated for the lower price. thus advised him to keep the SSD in the unit as a selling point.

yes, and the one he is selling here has an 8700...
so the SSD is honestly the main reason for a decent price.

My opinion would be to sell the SSD replace it with a regular 5400 RPM hard drive, and sell the BluRay drive, replace it with a regular DVD-RW drive. Sell the laptop for about $900 and then sell the SSD for about $300 and the BluRay drive for about $150-200. Again just my opinion. God Bless :)

Yup, that's what will make it stand out among the other rigs on fleabay.
