I just got off the phone with roswell and it looks like i'm sending my computer in to get repaired. So do I need to install the 1gb of RAM that came with my pc again? Also how long did it take people around here to get their computers back? The roswell tech says at most 10 business days.
Edit: Just to clear things up this thread was made due to me having to send my M15x back for faulty speakers that would screech at me. It was also sent back to have the lid inspected due to creaking but its not as big a deal as the speakers. I am not the only person with speaker troubles, Jordan also had the same problems as me.

I would suggest putting it back in. I've read many stories (not just AW) where an upgraded hard drive or RAM was stolen/taken at the tech repair site and the original type of part put back in.
-
Take all your upgraded components out. In case they will need to replace your computer, they won't take any responsability for losing any 3rd party hardware.
You should ship it without battery or any other thing. Make sure you backup your data (or send the laptop without the HDD, they also recommend it).
I've sent mine a month ago... They are building a new M15x for me. Have no idea when I'll get it back.
I'm really sorry for you. I'm really sorry there are still quite a few people that have to go through this ordeal. Honestly... it's really unnaceptable. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Just return it as you got it from AW.
-
mine took 7 days to replace the motherboard and a new chassis.
it gets sent back using the AW/DHL air but returned by road. -
Ok thank you guys and I appreciate the help and support
. I'll make sure to take the RAM out and put the original back in
-
-
yours wasn't the laptop having the BSOD n stuff was it?... its prob the 3rd party ram you are using did u look at the ram timings in the bios and if they can be set to auto detect?

I am sending in mine tomorrow to get my speakers fixed too. Hopefully we both get ours back fast Daedric!
-
I received a message today... Still testing and they can't give me any date. Which means (on AW language)... 2 more weeks (at least) until I reiceive it.
Now I'm losing my patient... One month without the laptop is simply unnaceptable! -
Alienware-Armando Company Representative
Daedric,
I will also look into this, please send me a PM with your account number.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
Thank you. -
-
I think its great you want to help me man but it has been 4 days since I PMed you with no reply. -
Hi Daedric,
Most of the reps work behind the scenes, so they often don't reply. However, I do know that they're doing their doing their best. Armando actually speeded my m15x into production.
Gabe -
I understand this but I have not even got a message back confirming that he has even gotten my PM. To tell you the truth I don't even know if what I sent was too long and didn't go through, although I don't think so. -
i thought you had received yours back already milcs. now thats just taking the P. i think AW should have a cut off point where if they cant repair it in a certain time then you are offered a brand new machine.
good luck mate, i know what your going through. im really missing mine but at the moment just cant take the chance of re ordering a new one or even m17x. i need a computer with some serious speed on it has its party season and have lots of digital video films to edit and my fujitsu is strugleing a bit now.
catch 22, what do i do.
-
Oh, and I'm not really expecting it any time soon.
They did offer me a new machine... but they are "testing" it for the past 2 weeks. All CS talk... They always give me the same answers.
"As you can imagine, testing the machine takes long time and we can't estimate a shipping date.".
And to be honest, at this point, I don't really care much about the M15x anymore. As I said several times, the M15x is just a time bomb waiting to go off.
I will definately never buy from Alienware again or recommend it to anyone else. It's the crappiest and worst quality laptop I've ever owned.
@Daedric- Reps never answer your PMs. They just come here and send you a message to calm people down, make them happy and make them think AW is amazing. It's all about image, very little about action.
Saying this... Some rep did actually contacted AW UK and for that, they substituted my old M15x for a brand new laptop... which I will receive sometime... in the future. -
And i thought that the AW reps had been helpful to both fex and jayon and other people who had problems...everytime i see a thread complaining about something that they can help with they are always saying "send me a PM and i'll look into it", is that just empty talk? -
I wrote something long but I'm editing it as I don't feel like going into a debate over this with you.
I think people like us (that have actually been FORCED to deal with CS due to such a poor product) have much more "wisdom" and right to speak about CS than you do. Just cross your fingers you won't have to come to that point.
Good luck and cheers,
M. -

Will I got a PMed back from James and he's taken care of me. The biggest thing I'm worried about is if I get my M15x back and it has not been fixed.
@Milcs, they keep testing your computer man because they are scared if it is not perfect then you might kill them, lol But on a serious note if I was you I would of just asked for a refund, a month is ridiculous. -
-
I have fresh news regarding my M15x... I'm still baffled, so I'm going to wait for it to cool down and then I will make a new post regarding my story.
Enough is to say... I hope AW goes out of business soon. -
-
No good news. I officially have to say, Alienware is the worst company I've ever dealt with and they should be ashamed for being so bad, selling such bad products and treating their costumers like sh*t.
I'm really mad ... I will make a long post later with the "fresh news". I only hope AW will close it's doors soon as, what they are doing, is totally unacceptable. -
I wish Cat was around to say something lighthearted to alleviate all this negativity...
-
@Milcs - With all the negativity you've introduced to the forum, I'm surprised that Alienware is still trying to assist you. Profanity and false statments about how they've treated you isn't going to help your situation. Alienware is very professional on the phone, as well as on this forum. If Alienware didn't have such great customer service, they would have dropped your case a long time ago. Instead, they persist to try to make you happy, as any good coporporation would. Despite all the negative things you're posting on this forum, they overlook it and try to help you anyway. I think that if I were you, I'd be happy I'm even getting helped at all. Perhaps the best solution for you is to refund your money and ask you to do business elsewhere.

With all the positivity you have introduced in the forum, I am amazed they didn't give you a free tshirt or a cup yet.
I would just like to highlight some of the most brilliant sentences I've came across lately:
The other thing I think is a pearl of wisdom... So, in order for me to have my costumer's rights, I have to come here and lie by making alienated posts about "How I love my Alienware". As I say "negative" things (which are actually factual things... just because you don't like them, does not mean they are negative), I lose all my rights and they should just not care about me and the money I put in their products. They should just punish me and put me in a corner alone.
Man... You are brilliant and I love you. -
This is really getting to be far too much.
People aren't remaining objective on either side. -
That is why you guys should come over to the Sager realm
Great CS, and 3 day paid shipping both ways for defective/warranty returns and they fix it within a week at the most
... trying to lighten the mood. But one month is def way to long.. You really should just ask for a refund
-
Any update to this thread, I have the same speaker problem coming from my right speaker...If I push down on it it goes away. I was hoping for a quick fix, but sounds like I have to send it back in to fix it (something I sadly don't have time for).
