    Hi,
I have a kinda wierd need but here it goes.

I need to know the format of a Alienware M17x (T9600 2.8GHz) serial for a contest. the one that gives the closest match wins.
There are 8 digits that i must provide, however, everywhere i looked on the web i've seen 2 letters - 5 digits and another letter so nowhere close to the 8 digits.
So could anyone help me with a serial ? even with the first 2-3 digits to know about where it is.

    Thanks.

Service tags and serial numbers are two different things. Are you sure your looking at the right numbers?

As was pointed out in another post, the majority of individuals will not post their Service Tag nor Express Service Code as they can be used for 'shady' purposes. This will be the last thread on the subject and no further posts concerning requests for this information will be permitted. For the format, see this post. FYI - this is not an actual M17x express service tag (as far as I know) and the Express Service Code is based on the actual service tag - so each one will be different.

AW Forum members, please report any additional posts along these lines via the 'Report Post' link.

Thanks and best of luck in your 'contest'.
