    could anyone tell me if there is a shortcut key from changing on board realtek sound card to soundblaster X-fi card.
    the x-fi card doesnt want to work even when computer is re booted. it turns the sound off the on board speakers but wont connect to my 5.1
    when i pull the card out i get a really loud high pitched tone and only way to turn of is to keep finger on alien head on/off for 10 seconds.

    Perhaps check the Realtek control panel to see if you can switch anything there?

    soundblaster is ticked. test speakers with on board sound test and they work. put a cd in or play a game and there is no sound. me confused now.
