hey folks im having an annoying problem with my m17x, specifically with the game Crysis. i will be playing and enjoying 60+fps and then it will randomly just drop into the single digit range for a few seconds and then pop back up to normal. it happens very rarely during the beggining of the game but once i get to the level where you need to sneak into the village and fight the 2 tanks, i think its like the second chapter, it will happen at random intervals and makes the game unplayable. its not the settings i have the game playing at (all high) so im wondering anyone else has this problem or knows how to fix it? thanks! heres my system specs

    windows 7
    1920x1200 WUXGA screen
    dual gtx 280m's in SLI
    4 gb ddr3 at 1333 mhz
intel dual core t9600 at 2.8 ghz
    1 tb Raid 0 2x 500gb 7200 rpm
    razer mamba
    thanks again for any help!

    Hi Flea,
Bit of a long shot, but following BatBoy's blog, I have disabled both hybrid and integrated graphics and all in-game lag spikes/fps drops have stopped and flickering is a thing of the past.
    Hope it helps :)

ok just an update this did not fix the issue. i have gone through and changed the bios to use only the gtx 280m's and have disabled all the unnecisarry services and other startup programs etc and i still get stutter during mp3 playback on itunes, and many slowdowns when playing Crysis. this is the only game that i get these slowdowns and its making the game unplayable. any ideas what i can do? its kinda dissapointing that my 3000 dollar machine cant play Crysis when it clearly should eat it up :/ any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

gpu's never get abouve 60 degrees and cpu stays around 50. yeah ive been reading through that thread. looks like im gonna have to wait for the BIOS update for a complete fix. however i am having alot better performance with nvidia's new beta drivers it only hiccups every 10 minutes of play or so now so thats alot better than every 20 seconds like it was going there for a second. hopefully when the new drivers come out itll be a bit better. thanks for the help!

Eat it up? Hardly (at least not at the maximum detail settings and FSAA). The video cards just aren't strong enough for it. Keep in mind that the GTX 280M is based on the G92b chip, like some GeForce 8800 and 9800 desktop models, not the GT200 chip that powers the Desktop GTX28x series of cards.
Besides, even my GTX285s in SLI struggle with Crysis on my 4GHz Core i7 Desktop at times.

Oh I cant believe Crysis is still a hardware killer  I remember they used to test it on 8800 Ultra 3-way SLI and its still can not be perfectly smooth :D
