    ssd install/setup video?

    hi guys im looking at getting an ssd when in order an alienware because im not paying 300% markup lol if anyone has a video of the install and more importantly the setup. do you have to re install windows? im looking to order it with a 750gb 7.5k drive and move it to bay 2 while adding the ssd to bay 1.

    which alienware model for starters? installing an SSD should be relatively easy to do.

    Check the manual, there are all necessary steps described. You shouldn't need to move the HDD with which the system comes to a different bay, you can easily change the boot order in the BIOS.

    Fresh installing the OS is imo a good idea when getting a SSD. Just put in your SSD, then put in your Windows DVD and boot from the DVD (press F12 on boot, unless they changed it). After you installed the OS install the drivers (watch for the correct order) and you're done.

    But before upgrading your system (once you have it) make sure it works properly (yeah, seems stupid to mention, but some people upgrade stuff before even starting the system for the first time...)

    ok thats kinda what i was wondering, it sounds simple enough but i guess we will see... will a clean install if windows wipe the system
