m9750 with one 7950. I was getting great fps for a long time at full res on tf2. I all of a sudden was getting 10 -15 fps. I figured it was time for a format so i did so, but went back to vista. I am still getting the same poor fps at full res (1920 x 1200). It does it right away with the fans low so I am sure its not heat. Any ideas?? Please no one say **** vista.. that doesnt help solve the problem.

    Thanks..

An update was recently released for tf2 which has created many problems with dropping frame rates its not an isolated problem.

    1) Make sure your Vista power profile is set to High performance, if its set to power saver it will half your performance.

    2) Check your notebook isnt overheating causing it to thermally downclock. Use HWMonitor and post back with your idle and full load temps

I highly doubt it is your internet connection. Play single player if you doubt this.

check if it is only tf2. if it is only tf2 you can now join the same club as me :D . there is one solution but it will make the game very unstable. that one solution is to enable MQM2. since tf2 only uses 1 core, dunno why they did this the frames arent good. mqm2 makes use of 2 cores but it is very unstable. unstable meaning the game will crash every 20 - 30 min.

for now you have to live with the low fps. you are not the only one who has it tho. alot of people who has a 8800 GTS (desktop) are also having low frame rates. the new GTX 280s are being affected too.
