this seems to be an issue with the new version of the command center. i don't think there's anything you can do about this, except perhaps try to install the old version.

or better switch to AuroraLightsFX
Gosh.... do they have software testers at Alienware... nevermind they dont have hardware testers as well -

That's the same manual I received with my 2/15/09 m15x order. I think it's just what they ship now, and I tend to like it better.
As for the missing mouse pad, I suspect this is not an oversight, but infact deliberate. I say this because I too was missing my mouse pad, and called to ask why.
The CS agent I spoke with (not Roswell) said that he didn't think they shipped their systems with mouse pads unless a mouse was purchased in the order. I pointed out that the youtube unboxing videos that their website promoted showed mouse pads in the boxes with the other included accessories. He politely agreed that it was their mistake, and in an effort to "keep a good relationship with a new customer," he shipped a mouse pad straight away.
To speak to your original point of the missing white lighting option, I am missing this as well. If you'd like to take the reigns on this one, and get in touch with Roswell for more insight, I'd be in your debt. I am too often busy with work during their hours of operation, and have yet to call them on this problem. At the very least, AW ought to update their website with current screen shots of the software so that more people are not misinformed. Regardless, here's a bit more info on the matter.
p.s. Could you try using a lower res on your photos? I opted for performance on my m15x rather than screen real estate, and the scrolling back and forth to read things is a touch annoying.
there's no white light for my m15x?
