I don't know if its just me being stupid or a problem with the alienware sight but I cant seem to use the student discount. I logged into the account that i registered with my college, followed the links to the m15x, but when i press customize it comes up with an error that says invalid configuration. Any thoughts on this?

Does it happen when you click the m17x or M17?

well it sort of works with the m17x, but it doesn't give you the option of customizing one. I just don't get why they would continue to list the m15x under the student discount program....weird.

It's a badly made site...the links don't work well. To configure the m17x, you have to add one to the cart, and then edit. The student link on the m15x is broken, but you can configure one and phone them to order...you'll save 5%.

That's what I did a little over a week ago. Let them know ur e-mail and they will set you all up. It will show up as a 5% employee discount. (It did on mine)
But they WILL stand behind the Student Discount!

...and, if military folks are looking in here that didn't go through AAFES, military/government types can get the same 5% discount through alienware's employee purchase program, and can sign up through the site to do it.

(though AAFES is cheaper for military, it may be a little easier to deal directly w/alienware...)
