ive for some reason just decided to look at my turbo memory console, and noticed that readyboost is unchecked. i checked the box and it tells me i have to reboot, so i did, but checking it again, its unchecked itself again.
any ideas whats going on?

ok, having just rebooted again, it was still off, but after maybe a minute, it turns on, maybe its supposed to do that? but when i first checked my laptop had been on for hours and it was unchecked. strange, maybe it only uses it when needeed? but even that would be strange as i have 4GB of ram anyway.

the story is if youre using 4gb of ram then the turbo is useless.
its even been reported that it can slow your computer down a fraction. -
yes ive read all about that, but as ive got it, and my computer is running quickly anyway, didnt see the point in fiddling. just strange how it seems to be turning on and off on its on

Isnt the whole thing with turbo memory that its loading up frequently used files in ram memory so that it is faster accesible?
If so than it should be completely normal that it is switched on after a while, cause it needs time to load the frequently used files to ram memory. Ram looses its memory when u disable it from power. So every time it reboots it should be filled again.
Dunno if this is the problem, but im only using my brains here. -
you have come to the wrong forum mate!

yes i guess that could be it, but im sure i read somewhere it was supposed to help speed up boot times, which would surely mean it would have to activated the moment the laptop is turned on. maybe im wrong, i dunno, in fact, i dont think i cafe, lol. its enabled now, just checked.
