    I have a R2 with 1 hd 4870mobo, was wondering if I can do self upgrade to a mobility Hd5870 from here

    I would recommend not buying from there but waiting and getting it through dell, then you still have a warranty.

    That reseller also has been shady in the past, you can ask Crylo for more information on that.

    no, the laptop is the same, only difference is there is either one or two gpus installed

    Yeah I would stay away from Eurocom. They're the worst business I and many others have ever had to deal with. Check out the links in my signature for a few reasons why you should avoid them altogether. You are better off getting them from Dell as scook said, they will cover the card with their warranty.

    Not only will they cover the card, they wont try to blame anything that breaks on the card you installed that is not theirs

    I've already tried with that card and it doesn't work. We have to wait and see what system bios/vbios Dell is using with the 5870 to try it again.

    yep i would wait as fella from dell i was speaking just now put me off getting single 5870 , as i asked if i can just add on. somethings up as he told me its complicated so just wait till the 13th as i was just gonna get the laptop with single now and add on later as others have said.

    and complicated not meaning fitting an extra card. but i hope not.
