Should I extend? I know the service is bad but I'd rather not pay for parts/repairs out of pocket later (likely more than the cost of warranty) wanna keep this at least 2 more years probably.

Also if I hurried it in before warranty ends do you think I could get the hinges replaced (no cracking etc. just creaking!!!) and also need some screws for the service panel.

Mine ends in october ( yeah i know thats a while from now ) but I really want to extend mine too. I have this gut feeling my hinge is going to break the moment I hit one year. I hope it doesn't because I would hate to wait for AW to fix my lappy that's better than having a broken one. But since I already have a year warranty, can I just buy another one year? Or will I be forced to buy the 2 year?

You can buy either a 1 or 2-year extension for a maximum total of 3 years of warranty on each Alienware laptop and desktop.
