    I am very tempting to order an M17x or M18x since I am very interested in the hdmi-in option.

    But practical I have 2 questions;
    - On an other Windows PC will it just show as a standard 1600x900 monitor (or 1080p depending on the AW screen), or is there somehing software involved?
    - When switched viewing the external screen does Windows still run normal in the background? Can I still use the keyboard and mouse? (I know i will be typing blind!)

    Why i ask this stuff? well for example it would be nice to use Vent and use a hotkey to talk while playing PS3 games on the AW screen.

    I hope someone can help me with these questions :) Happy day!

    I think you can hook up your PS3 or xbox to the AW screen.
    But I don't know the details.

    Using a standard HDMI cable, you can connect an external HD monitor to the laptop for better viewing. I'm quite sure the 650 would have an auto-adjust, if it doesn't, even on my crappy old HD3850 I can change my second monitor settings separately from my main screen. So I would definitely imagine the nVidia has the same feature.

    To my knowledge, you cannot run two appliances onto the same monitor at the same time, so running a PS3 with a laptop plugged into the T.V. wouldn't work.

    Aren't you describing the HDMI output that every laptop has? The M17x/M18x is unique in that it has an HDMI input which allows other devices to use its screen to view their content.

    So, you can connect an Xbox 360/PS3 or any other HDMI device to the M17x/M18x and use its screen. It acts pretty much just like any other external monitor and you press Fn+F8 to turn on/off the HDMI input. The connected device will see the monitor as 1080p or 900p, whichever screen you got. The M17x/M18x will keep running like normal when using the HDMI input and I'm pretty sure the keyboard and mouse will still work.

    I've tried it with a PS3, Xbox 360, and an Asus N56SV laptop which all worked great. I wish the console games were in 1080p though. Being a laptop, I sit closer to it than a TV and I can tell how 720p (or even less for many games) don't show up that sharp.

    On my own Asus U81A, the outputted image on my M17x's screen looks really bad for some reason. The colors and contrast are terrible and text is blurry. It's fine when I connect it to my TV, so I dunno.
