hey guys,
havent really been posting in a while! anyway our families computer is pretty much useless. riddled with viruses and its pretty old and slow etc..
so were getting a new one! my parents have given me the pleasure of spec-ing one out as im the computer guy in the family. i want to keep it around 800 euro(or 1100 dollars).
any one got any suggestions?
id like alienware simply because i love my m15x but im very much open to other brands too so let me know what ya think!

go with a main stream hp or somethign like that i dont think your getting a alienware for 1100
....and its wayyyy cheaper to build it your self
-
AW has 2 desktops at base config for 999 lol and they will do the trick but unless your gaming its a waste and im checking new egg for you what do you want in it ? alot of ram for multitasking or a fast cpu for video encodeing etc i need specs man there a think for getting people to help you find the right computer i have no problem with helping here but you may get moved

desktop? build yourself... Asus P5Q mobo, quadcore, 4gb RAM, lots of HDD space, DVD-RW drive, cheapo graphics card.
-
Spend some time on newegg.com and tomshardware.com
Between the two i managed to put together a pretty intense gaming desktop for $480 shipped.
Always cheaper to build your own. -
it wont be used for gaming but its gotta be fast and good at multi tasking

ive never built a computer myself. only installed ram on my m15x and a new keyboard. im sure i could do it fine with some help like a tutorial or something.

you can find "how to's" all over the net (tomshardware as well) about how to build a unit for yourself.
