So my laptop was ordered sometime ago....
    Not very long.
The scheduled ship date was June 30th....
    Im already in Phase 9....
    "Phase 9: (Order Shipped)
Congratulations, the order has been shipped. We only hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it for you. "

It went from like phase 3 to 9 in what....6-8 days....
    Umm...wtf?
    Is that good or bad?
Does this mean it will arive faster then expected...?
It shipped 14 days earlier lol.....
    This happen to anyone else?

It's pretty simple really... If they have all the components, the laptops get out their door very fast. Mine took less than 10 days from ordering to shipping. If they have all the components, there's no reasons why they shouldn't make it fast.
Don't worry about it now... Give it a good check when they come (external + Internal) and if everything is fine... then everything is fine.

Mine's shipped now, but I originally had an ETA of July 11.
Logged in to obsessively check the order status around 3:00 p.m. a week ago, it's on step 5, like it had been for a day or so.
Checked back at 5:00, step 9. Shipped! *Insert freakout here*
I did, however, had to remind them a few days afterwards to actually ship the thing....
At this point, I've read a lot about the weak chassis and it's bothering me...heavily considering returning it and going with the PCMW Edge. Opinions?

    Pooh.

Guess mine hasn't updated with it yet. Apparently it only shipped last night.

Online chat said to call a sales rep and ask. So I did, sales said they don't have it yet takes 24 hours to populate. >.> I'll just check at work.

    @Le_Meow
Just for the record, it should be known that PCMW is lying to you if you're considering going with the quad-core and 9800m gtx setup.

In fact, there's a sticky in the Sager/Clevo forums
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1017
about how those components do not fit the thermal budget. (We don't want another heat fiasco like this one on our hands again!)

Other than that, at this point I would simply advise you to test it out as much as possible--within the bounds of safety, etc. don't void your warranty through misuse, in otherwords--and if you're not satisfied with it, then send it back. It is very likely that the Clevo M860TU (the 'edge' is just a name PCMW gave it when they rebranded it, as they are not the original manufacturers) will be cheaper than the m15x with a similar configuration.

There is also the chance that you got a good one out of the batch and your m15x will work fine, so don't discount that possibility just yet.
Examine it closely when you receive it, inspect it for cracks, test it out, monitor your temps, etc.

Yeah, I just read about the 9800gtx deal and that was a big point to buying the M860TU, but I wasnt planning to go with the quad. Lovely.

I am (hate it or love it) an obssesive laptop cooler user, so if I do (insert prayer) get a good m15x, then perhaps that with the new BIOS/drivers will remove all heat-caused problems.

My biggest concern in this is the length I will be using this laptop. Odds are, that at college this sucker will get a fair beating, no matter how well I take care of it. I want to make sure the chassis is strong enough to hold up. Oh, and it would be nice not to have to worry about my screen melting/cracking/screaming at me when I open it.

Less of a concern is the DDR3 capability, higher FSB and memory clock, and WiMAX, but i'm still unsure of the potential benefits.

Personally, I would wait until the M860TU is released.
Sager/Clevo consumers, from what I can tell, are generally fairly pleased with the quality of their build.
I'm going to college this coming fall too and I'd love a new laptop that I can use as a gaming platform since I'm not yet ready to spring for a 360 or PS3 (and I've always been partial to PC gaming anyway), but as you have said it's likely going to go through some wear-and-tear and I need assurance that it can hold up as well.

What Miho says makes sense now. Waiting is really the more inteligent thing to do. Nevertheless, hopefully the M15x will be able to stand all the rough treatment you could throw at him... hopefully.

Just make sure it's sturdy and well built to start with. Appart from that, you will have to cross your fingers and hope nothing will come your way. The M15x is not the toughest notebook around and you should probably try and treat it as well as you possibly can.
Mine definately wasn't a machine made for being sturdy and resilient... Let's see what happens when they send it back to me.
Also, there are lots of new people receiving new laptops. Maybe a miracle did happen after all... Time will tell. :)

To end... don't mix Bios with heating solutions. Bios did not do anything regarding possible heating problems some machine are facing. The Bios only prevents the 8800GTX to downclock and that's all. Some users even reported that idle temperatures actually go up. In my case, both idle and full load temperatures went up (both GPU and CPU).

I do believe I have a miracle...It seems sturdy enough in my hands, minimal flex all over (a good smack to the ground or a corner WOULD worry me though). What's most amazing is that EVERYTHING works. Light pipe, graphics card, touch controls. Everything! That I have tested so far at least...today after some more gaming, maybe i'll be able to decide.
But to those who know more, would the DDR3, higher FSB and WiMAX be a big enough upgrade to warrant the 15% (EEKS) restocking fee?

Meow, just to give you some feedback on your positive experience.
My experience was exactly like yours. Everything on mine was working absolutely fine (specially when I updated the Bios). Appart from the screen wobbliness that was quite obvious on my laptop, everything else was fine. So I'm not surprised (or I don't think it's a miracle) that you have that positive opinion.

Regarding the future platform... If everything is working fine (I would stress you following temperatures as this is in fact, the most serious "potential" problem of the M15x), then I would not think twice about keeping the M15x. It looks great, it will give you comparable speeds to everything that will come out in the near future and you don't really need the few extra things coming out.

Ah, so the outrageously higher memory and FSB clocks realy won't help?
I'm setting up the necessary temp monitoring software, and so far, at idle, my GPU is hovering 47.0 C
I'm a fahrenheit boy, so can anyone translate that into a measure of safety?

Fahrenheit is not really my cup of tea! :D
That's really low for iddle. BTW, you should use Rivatuner to check GPU temps. If you are using thermofan, forget it... it's not correct.
Good luck with the final tests.

I'm downloading Everest for CPU temp, but does anyone have any better (not just in opinion) utility?

Edit: With Everest, CPU reads 43 C and HDD is 40 C
And I have NOT undevolted yet, waiting to see if I approve of the lappy or not.

Use HWmonitor to register actual temperatures and keep track of minimum and maximum temps of most of your laptop's components (CPUs, GPUs, HDD).
Also, use RMclock to follow CPU speeds and temperatures.
That, Rivatuner and Thermofan (for fan speeds), should be your "hand" on playing safe with your laptop.

mine has gone crazy fast too. If you got skullcap then the reason may be the backorder of ripleys. Everyone with ripley is on hold right now so they moved the skullcaps into production ahead of the ripleys. If thats you, it means you got to cut the line
