M17x r1.. delivered on day 1, 2nd gfx card fault, after 3 system replacements, i get upgrade to r2... motherboard bugs up and wont boot, get that replace, then i finally get a refund! 6 weeks later, i order a area 51 alx top spec £5500, arrives today... and it blows the powersupply. phone tech team they say they will more than likely have to replace the motherboard and other compenents if it surged, so im got authorized to get a refund! not sure if i want to re-order once i recieve the refund or not now =/

I have to agree with granyte. If the place is not grounded and such you could have issues.

You should start by conducting a proper ghosts cleansing ritual (Exorcism) in your house! :D :p :p

Seriously, as others suggested this could very well be an electricity problem. Get a good surge protector.

I used to have this happen at my last house mainly desktop PSU's invested in a UPS and now for my laptop a 5 socket surge protector for about £25 to keep my M17 R2 in sexy condition :D

    Bugger.

While I'm a fan of Alienware laptops if you're looking at a Desktop, I personally think there are better deals to be had for Desktop systems elsewhere - especially if you use the multitude of guides on the web to build your own.

Given your past experiences if I was in your position I'd go down the self build path and get the most bang for my buck.
